Boley Alumnae Chapter

A picture Boley Charter Members

The love of Delta “came” to Boley after the initiation of Lillie Stallworth Seward in the Beta Upsilon Chapter at Langston University in 1939. After 40 years, Delta came back to Boley!

The correspondence began on March 4, 1978 with a letter to Regional Director Annie Brooks stating the need for a Boley Chapter. In March 1979, the application was received for establishing a Delta Chapter in Boley. The application was accepted. On September 8, 1979, the Boley Alumnae Chapter was established under the direction of the Central Regional Director, Helen L. Johnson.

The chartered Sorors were: Glenda Williams Bradford, Darnell Buckner, Donnie O. Lawson, Lee Etta Lee, Arlene Craig Robinson, Peggy Williams Rowlett, Kay Grace Shaver, Carolyn R. Shields, Francis Marzett Shelton, Chris Mobley Spencer, Sandra Standford, Dorothy J. Williams, Essie S. Williams, Mary E. Williams and Pinkie Alexander Williams.
Soror Essie S. Williams was the Chapter’s first President. After the election of officers, Soror Williams lead the Chapter in emphasizing Delta’s Five-Point Program: Physical & Mental Health, Educational Development, Economical Development, International Awareness and Political Awareness.
